Kitchen Technician Job Description

Job Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Direct Supervisor: Laboratory Manager (Infusion)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Kitchen Technician performs culinary responsibilities to ensure conformity and quality of products in compliance with all state and local laws and regulations. Kitchen Technicians must be passionate about delivering the best edible products possible. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Prepares edible items and other culinary activities as directed by the Lab Manager

  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment

  • Provides feedback to the manager to improve processes and core functions

  • Performs duties as needed outlined in the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules

  • Creates a proactive and positive environment while meeting and exceeding personal and company goals

Quality & Financial

  • Completes tasks in a timely and efficient manner according to company SOPs

  • Performs regular quality assessments and records data in the master record

  • Ensures that all edibles are of the highest quality in taste and form factor

  • Reports to management any event or condition that might affect product development or quality

People & Development

  • Continues education of marijuana strains, products, and the industry during downtime

  • Stays up to date and complies with all state and local cannabis laws and regulations

  • Consistent development of proper edible processing skills

  • Maintains current product knowledge, policies, and procedures

Compliance

  • Complies with CCC and industry standards set forth by the state of Massachusetts

  • Adheres to all safety policies and wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability, initiative, and quality of work

  • Skilled in analyzing potential problems with the product being processed

  • Ability to multitask and pivot quickly

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods, and techniques

  • Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks

  • High attention to detail

  • Positive, team-centered attitude with solid interpersonal, written and communication skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 21 years of age

  • General knowledge of Cannabis

  • Work references (3)

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to work in a kitchen production environment

  • Able to stand for extended periods, and kneel, stoop, bend, twist, in tight areas

  • Able to lift 10 to 25 pounds

  • Repetitive use of hands for all functions
