Role: CAC Taunton General Manager
Hometown: Canon City, CO
Years in Cannabis: 6 years
What is your cannabis origin story?
In early 2014 I got my first cannabis industry job, budtending. From there, I worked to establish my career through hard work and never ending passion for the plant. Here I am, 6 years later - 2,000 miles away from Colorado still loving what I do everyday!
What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?
In my early years, I managed a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Durango, Colorado. When I step back and look at the big picture, I have worked most of my professional career within this budding industry. I was going to school full time at Metropolitan State University of Denver while also working full time at my first dispensary from 2014-2016. During that time, I realized that I wanted cannabis to be my career, not just a job to pay the bills. The last 6 years have prepared me to always expect change, stay organized and never forget how amazing my job is.
What is your strain of choice?
Romulan and Blackberry Kush
What is your favorite edible?
Right now I’d say our CHROMA Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans, but I miss Sweet Grass Kitchen edibles from Colorado, especially their Peanut Butter and Jelly muffins!
Favorite delivery method? e.g. smoke, dab, vape, eat, topical
I will always love rolling myself up a joint! Dabs are a close second.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?
Learning the Massachusetts cannabis market in general! Coming from Colorado originally, a lot has changed in the last year in terms of regulations - especially being on the east coast!
How do you ensure first time visitors are comfortable with their first dispensary experience?
It all starts with our amazing dispensary staff! We have PSAs present in the dispensary to be their “All things Cannabis guide.” They answer questions, take patient feedback, display consumption hardware functionality and educate! Our goal is to ensure each and every patient feels comfortable while shopping with us from the moment they walk in the door to when they arrive home to consume their products.
What do you do for fun?
Photography and illustration are two of my main hobbies. I also just recently took up skateboarding!
Do you have any hobbies or collections?
I have been collecting legal cannabis industry magazines since it was legalized in Colorado back in 2014. I can’t wait for the nostalgia years from now!
Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?
The internet is always a great resource, just be careful where you choose to get your information from. I have also gained a lot of cannabis industry knowledge and experience through attending networking events around the city.
What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?
I am not big on cannabis gadgets, personally, but I did recently snag a pre-roll bubbler from the Witch Dr headshop, and it is definitely my new favorite thing!
What’s your favorite CAC product right now?
The Slate beauty serum! I added a little bit of it to a bottle of massage oil - I use it every night on my neck and shoulders and I have been sleeping like a dream!
What do you like most about working at CAC?
Continuing my mission to make the world a better place, one cannabis consumer at a time!
